Nawaeb, Morobe: Menstrual Hygiene Day was celebrated at Situm Primary School in Lae, Morobe Province on 22 May. Commemoration undertakings included media activities and interviews, and working with at least 200 schools in 4 PNG districts to hold cost-free activities during the month.

Miss PNG and Miss Pacific Islands 2018-2019 who also the UNICEF PNG Youth Advocate Leoshina Kariha thanked the European Union (EU) for supporting menstrual hygiene needs for girls in primary schools through supporting awareness campaigns and construction of menstrual-hygiene friendly toilets.
